ADR-006: Sharing Options - Softcopy Downloads
Status: Accepted
Context
Users should receive a digital copy (softcopy) of their photos. This can be delivered via QR code that links to a hosted page. The business model is tenant-paid access to the photobooth platform; end-users at the booth do not pay per photo.
Decision
We will implement license-gated softcopy sharing:
- QR code is displayed once the booth session completes
- Photo is uploaded to cloud storage (R2/S3)
- User scans QR to download from hosted URL
- Feature availability depends on the tenant having an active subscription/license
- Storage costs are treated as part of the tenant-facing product cost
Consequences
Positive
- Seamless experience for booth users
- Aligns with the tenant-paid product model
- Leverages existing cloud infrastructure
Negative & Risks
- Only available when the tenant plan/license is active
- Requires cloud storage integration
